In the historic and beautiful village of Fordyce we enjoyed the most amazing evening meal, absolutely fantastic! Calamari, lobster, langoustine, crab, monkfish and haddock - all cooked to absolute perfection and served with amazing beef dripping chips on the side - and for those who don't want fish there's several other dishes offered. Extremely friendly owners and lovely servers. Booking is a must, certainly for evenings.

We came across The Old Kirk by pure chance on our first night while visiting the surrounding area near Buckie and Cullen for a week, the food that night was delicious the service personal and welcoming the calamari starter was the freshest I have eaten and cooked perfectly ….. it was so good we had to have a 2nd visit the day before we left the area this time we both had the monk fish and langoustine skewers which were divine melt in your mouth perfection. Highly recommended 👍👍

Absolutely stunning wee bistro set in a picturesque location, Popped in here for a bite to eat, food was delicious, options was very limited due to just closing up, however they were very accommodating and offered up some Calamari, perfectly cooked, Lobster and Crab salad for starters, both delicious, This was followed by fish and chips, local caught fish, batter just melted in the mouth and beef dripping homemade chips, old skool like your grandma used to make, This was followed up by a apple and pear crumble with homemade custard, Stunning meal washed down with some locally made lemonade, Manageress/owner was friendly Highly recommend,

Customer in restaurant only. Lovely location. Excellent food and first class attention and service. My calimare was possibly the best I have ever had. Only 4 stars because they had run out of my favourite pudding. Should've ordered earlier ! We will return

Excellent food (particularly the seafood which was the best I've tasted for quite a while) and friendly service. A little challenging to find, so leave plenty of time to get there. Soft drinks only, so B.Y.O.B.

Had a stunning Friday afternoon lunch at the Old Kirk Bistro. Food was top quality and flavoursome. The service was spot on and the location very pretty. We took my disabled daughter and there was plenty of space for her wheelchair, roomy disabled loo and a handy disabled parking space next to the entrance. I like that you pre-order your food as it meant it was very fresh, and that it's BYOB too. There's a nice selection of soft drinks (incl some local), tea and coffee. I hope we can visit again in the near future.

We found this place by accident and we are really glad we did! We received a warm welcome and it is such a lovely place inside, very cosy. The food is lovely, mainly seafood, all locally fresh. We had fish skewers, and also battered fish and chips. The batter was thin and fluffy and crisp, perfectly cooked. Lovely chips and salad too! Really nice setting. Would highly recommend

Would recommend this place to everyone - the best gluten-free fish and chips I've ever had! So good that we ate it all before thinking about taking a photo, so all we have are photos of the gluten-free chocolate pudding (which was also great). Good selection of fresh seafood - also had the langoustine and monkfish skewers which the chef kindly adjusted to accommodate for food intolerances. Very easy place to eat out for any dietary requirements, and the seafood is so fresh! Would definitely come again if we are in the area.

Rudest staff I have came across. Customer service is out of the window especially towards the pensioners I was out with.

10/10. Very friendly lady who runs the place and organises bookings impeccably; simple outstanding service from her. The food was outstanding, my linguine with langoustines and asparagus well cooked, exceedingly tasty and beautifully presented. They were generous with the prawns too. Elaine shared my opinions and enjoyed her crumble with homemade custard. The village is gorgeous and the bistro full of fascinating historic artefacts - I really couldn’t recommend highly enough. The prices were compatible with the quality of the food; by now means overpriced.

Lovely anniversary dinner in a beautiful setting! We had hardly been out of the house in over a year. The food and service were exceptional! We liked placing our order in advance. We knew what type of meal was planned and what wine to bring to pair best with the food. Thank you so much!

Fish delicious, bit of a faff having to put in menu choices early , but all part of the experience. As a result I was able to amend my choice for dietary preference. Efficient staff, good value as its BYOB plus corkage. Will return .
